David coordinates the financial affairs for a select group of families and business owners in Tucson and the surrounding areas. David is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner and a proud alumnus of the University of Arizona and the Eller College of Management with a degree in Finance.
David’s expertise has been regularly sought out by the national financial media during 2009 and 2010. David offered commentary on a wide range of issues facing investors in the current economic environment. His media appearances include CNBC Power Lunch, CNBC Squawk on the Street, FOXBusiness.com LIVE, and the Dow Jones Newswire.

Spending many years working in various capacities within several financial advisory practices, David began his lifelong learning experience even before high school. As a young team member at RFS David performed various tasks around the office, learning the inner workings of the service and experience clients have to come to expect from RFS. While still in high school David began equipping himself for the future by studying for, taking, and passing the Series 6 and Series 63 exams. David began his studies at the University of Arizona in August of 2001. Being a native Tucsonan, David took an opportunity to travel to Atlanta, GA from August to December 2003 where he continued to work for two other financial advisory practices.
Graduating from the Eller College of Management in 2005, David continued learning, obtaining his Series 7 in 2005. While diligently working on the requirements to become a CFP® certificant, David studied, sat for, and passed his Series 65 and Series 24 exams. After much hard work David became a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner obtaining his CFP® certification in January 2008.
Apart from finance, David is also an avid musician and has been passionate about music since the age of 13 when he first learned to play the piano and then the guitar at age 16. Those abilities led him to playing in several bands growing up and developing a love of recording music as well.
Through his love of music and recording David met his wife, Chelsea Stertz, at a recording studio in Tucson during the summer of 2002. They were married July 23, 2005. They will celebrate their 5th wedding anniversary in July 2010. David & Chelsea continue to serve on their church's worship team together where Chelsea is the Director of Music Ministries. Chelsea sings and plays piano and David sings and plays the electric and acoustic guitar, the drums and occasionally even plays the bass.
At home they are surrounded by loving pets, their cat “Peyroux” and their Great Dane “”McGraw”.
