Sherry Miller
Executive Client Service Assistant

Sherry was born in Duncan Oklahoma and has lived in Tucson since the ripe old age of 6 months.  She grew up on the East side of town attending Henry Elementary School, Griddle Middle School and Saguaro High School.

After high school she took part-time courses at Pima Community College while working full-time at various jobs.

Sherry MillerSherry began working part-time for Dave in September 1995, just after he started giving the Financial Strategies for Successful Retirement Workshops.  The workshops were such a great success that Dave asked Sherry to come on board full-time. She started her employment as a data entry clerk, then was promoted to the receptionist position and then to client service assistant. In 1997, Sherry decided that she wanted to finish her education at a faster pace so she enrolled in the Business Administration Program at the University of Phoenix.  She graduated in October 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.

In May 2000, Sherry decided to take her education further because she wanted to be more knowledgeable about our business and wanted to provide even better service to our clients.  She took (and passed) the exams for her Life & Health Insurance License, and both the Series 6 and the Series 63 License (required for selling mutual funds, variable annuities & variable life insurance). Not only did this help the clients, it also took some of the service related workload off Dave which enables him to focus on more important client issues.

Sherry then decided to go the next step and get her Series 7 License (required for selling corporate, municipal and U.S. Government Securities).  And she did all this while taking care of two small children.

Sherry is thinking about taking the next step and becoming a Financial Advisor. We are all (including Dave) encouraging her to do it. But she loves what she is currently doing which is working for the clients as the top service person at RFS. Sherry is the “go to” person when it comes to service! She takes care of client issues such as cost basis, distributions, and trades and with Cecille and Darlene’s help, prepares the paperwork and files for client reviews. She said that RFS has the best clients and she enjoys what she does for them.

She said that over the years she has seen employees come and go but she has never seen a staff as talented and pleasant to work with as the one the company has today.  She said that the entire staff is very fond of telling Dave how lucky he is!

In May 2000, Sherry and her sweetheart and best friend “Sheldon” were married. However, their family was not complete until daughters Amber and Cheyenne made their appearances in January 2000 & July 2006.

Sherry took the girls to Disneyland in 2009 and they had a ball. Cheyenne is the dare devil in the family so she wanted to go on all the rides…even the scary ones.  Both Amber and Cheyenne have the RFS staff wrapped around their fingers.  Sherry’s mom “Mary” stops in to visit occasionally and when she does you can probably hear us laughing clear on the other side of town. She has a fun sense of humor. Now we know where Sherry got hers!

Amber is in the school choir and has had several performances this year around town.  She is also in 4H Clover Kids where they do mostly arts & crafts which end up getting displayed at the Pima County Fair.  This year for their community service project they chose to send care packages to the soldiers, the kids wrote letters and helped make things that cover the soldiers faces from the weather.  She is also our little “super model”. She loves to dress up...but she doesn’t have to do anything to be gorgeous...she just is!

Cheyenne will be starting pre-school in the fall (2010) and can’t wait to go to school like her big sister.  She recently had her tonsils removed because they were large and very painful. She is doing well but the problem now is that Sherry can’t get her to stop talking.

The family lives in Tucson with their pets, Tasha (the dog) and Eleanor (the kitty.)  Sherry said “my family is the light of my life!”
